Trekking and homestay in Chittagonog hill tracts.

About the product

There are more than one million tribal people living in Bangladesh. About half of them are living in Chittagong hill tracts. About half of this hill tribe is Chakma, and the remainder are mostly Marma, Tripura, Bowm, Chak, Tonchonga, Pangkhoya, Kheyang, Khumi, Lusai and topp less Mru.
The culture and life style of the tribal people is very different from thatof the Bangladeshi farmers in plains. Some tribes are matriarchal and all have similar housing- made entirely of bamboo and covered by thatched roofs of dried leaves. In most other respects, the tribes are quite different, each having its own distinctive rites, rituals, dialect and dress, eg Chakma women wear indigo-and-red striped sarongs other hand Mru women are top less.
The women are particularly skilled in making handicrafts, while some of the men still take pride in hunting with bows and arrows.
