The term ‘Aperture’ means simply an opening. It refers here to our purpose of ‘exploring the unexposed’, reflecting more its root words in the Latin. Neither do development results always augment well-being and expected growth of certain groups of people, nor do these people remain un-harmed for who the development is supposed to be. Such people and their sufferings continue to remain unexplored, so they remain unheard and deprived, deepening their development needs. Development processes and the corresponding losses in terms of increasing number of such people, often the majority, continue to be undocumented.

We use images- still and streaming, and voices along with text narratives to document development processes. We do communicate and research for development and manage events of development programmes and projects. Thus we grow and enrich an archive of photo-video and other development resources.

Aperture produces multimedia contents for advocacy on development issues and popular culture and practices. Through this, Aperture promotes grassroots voices and participation, and enhances human rights.
